Joyful reunion…

Well, who would ever have believed it?   After more than 35 years the four of us reunited.  And what a place to do do it!   In the February sunshine on the beach at Branksome, with beautiful Bournemouth glimmering in the background.

All those years ago, we took responsibility for Harry & June’s youngest daughter, Nichola, who came to live with us when they left Bournemouth to join WEC in Hertfordshire.  One might say they were interesting days.  Val’s eldest son, Andrew, was at home.  He was a good looking boy (still is).  The ensuing soap-opera was amusing to say the least.  Endeavouring to manage two hormone-fueled teenagers certainly called on our finer pastoral skills – and as those skills were very much in their eariest stages of formation, we were all of us learning together…

And, here in 2017, we shared a wonderful brunch at the Branksome Beach restaurant, our favourite haunt for renuions, meetings, and leisure.

Harry and Nigel took a walk east into Bournemouth (the “border” is only 100 metres along the promenade) while June and Val shared life, ministry and family in the warmth of the restaurant.    We shared just about everything.   God’s guidance and life.  The wonderful prospect of imminent revival.  The joyful privilege of sharing the Gospel, and seeing lives transformed by the grace, love and forgiveness of Jesus.

We hope it won’t be another 35 years before we meet again.  Although, we are spending eternity together…
