We hadn’t seen each other in YEARS…  then, through LinkedIn, Heidi Sydor found us and sent us a message.  We were thousands of miles away in Australia at the time, but phone numbers were exchanged and moments later we were speaking to each other…

Phil & Heidi were among our most loyal and faithful friends during a wretched time towards the close of our ministry in Cirencester, in the English Cotswolds – an area of outstanding natural beauty.   There wasn’t anything particularly beautiful about what was happening at the time, though it’s difficult to imagine encountering anything more attractive than the kindness, generosity and faithfulness of close friends.

Heidi was about to throw a fabulous party to mark a milestone birthday.  Warmington House in Camelford, Cornwall, has been painstakingly restored.  It’s right in the heart of “Doc Martin” country, for those of our antipodean readers who watch the series!   Six cosy and comfortable en-suite bedrooms meant that there was space for plenty of family and friends, and here was Heidi, despite the fact that we’d all but lost contact in the last decade, inviting the two of us to go and “party” with her.

It’s been fabulous – IS being – and it’s exactly what we needed right now.  The Lord knows.  The Lord ALWAYS knows…
