It really doesn’t. Running out of energy as she was, bless her, we REALLY needed to stop. Just for a moment of two. We’d had an exciting afternoon, visiting establishment after establishment owned by the globally venerated chef, Rick Stein. We just wanted a decent cup of tea, and maybe to share a slice of cake. And we DIDN’T want to be Steinified any longer. So we managed to do something that isn’t at all easy in Padstow, we located an eatery that isn’t owned by the great man. The tea came in a very ordinary mug, but it was hot and satisfying. The Victoria sponge was indulgent, but we did share. Perfect.
